I don't "imagine" any overall problem with overpopulation at all. Birth rates are plunging across the world and if the nanny state types demand it, people involved could get vasectomies/spayed/whatever.
I get amazed at how these doom memes develop a life of their own irrespective of reality. The Russian nation is getting desperate as babies aren't getting made - as with Japan. The birth rate just plunged in the US and conservative groups write blogs about the NEED to have kids! There are 100 grandparents per 40 grandkids in Greece. Why do highly educated "experts" conceive of futile plans to stimulate growth when growth is not possible because they can't burden a future generation with debt - that was never born? As for the few high reproduction areas in the world left, don't worry. These are the areas with unchangeably bad goverance and civil war will take it's inevitable course. Darwin will have the last word.
