It's not justification or rationalization... I wish that these people were that practical... rather these people have identified themselves by their beliefs. Anything that is a threat to these little ideas that they have is a threat to them and their power.
The problem that they don't realize is that they shouldn't identify themselves by what they believe (and destroy in the name of those beliefs) but rather by what they create.
