Yes, the evidence is overwhelming but most people have never seen it. Most people do not have the slightest idea cold fusion exists. That includes most political leaders, industrialists, generals, admirals and so on. Even though LENR-CANR has thousands of visitors, word does not get out. One of the reasons is that the Internet is huge. Cold fusion is hidden in plain sight. It has no more credibility in the minds of most experts than perpetual motion machines do, for two reasons: Because the experts have never bothered to look; and because cold fusion researchers have never done proper demonstrations. Demonstrations such as the one Cravens performed at NI Week were good in some ways, but they were not recorded or presented properly, so they were not convincing. The problem with the Internet is that it is too big. There are billions of web sites. There are thousands of documents and mass media articles about cold fusion. Most of them are ignorant nonsense. If someone at, say, the White House were to do a Google search for cold fusion, they would find mass media articles and Wikipedia before they find LENR-CANR.org. So they would get the impression that cold fusion does not exist. If they were to call over to the DoE they would soon be talking to someone at a high level who knows nothing about the subject. In 1908, most people had no idea that airplanes exist, and most mass media articles said the Wright brothers were fakers. That changed overnight when Wilbur flew an airplane in front of a crowd of experts in Le Mans, France. He did a very convincing demonstration. He might not have; he might have flown in such a way that expert observers would have dismissed him. Others had flown airplanes in France, but they had no control over the machines. They could not steer them. The experts watching Wilbur knew instantly that his machine was FAR more advanced, airworthy, controlled and practical than any other. Read their comments and you will see. Rossi could do a demonstration as convincing as the 1908 flight. His machine is capable of it. I am pretty sure that I and others could summon up an appropriate group of experts, similar to the people at Le Mans in 1908. If he were to demonstrate his reactor in a convincing fashion to a crowd of such experts now, within 24 hours every government on earth would know it is real. Pandemonium would ensue. Rossi has made every effort to avoid doing that, for obvious reasons. Patterson also made every effort to hide his technology. That is the only thing he succeeded in doing. Defkalion did a poorly rehearsed, unconvincing demonstration during ICCF18. Assuming their gadget works, after the conference they might have practiced 5 or 10 times, improved the script (the talking points), improved the instrumentation and performance, invited the right experts, and then they might have convinced people. They might be doing that now, for all I know. I have never heard from anyone who was impressed by a visit to their labs. But everyone who goes there is under NDA so perhaps there are a bunch of enthusiastic convinced experts out there that I have not heard from. - Jed
