Thank you Axil. We only want to do plastic bottles. There is a company that does this in the mid IR but I believe crushed up dirty bottles may confuse it.
The ratio to mid IR to blue light is really profound with the #1 soda bottles and the #2 milk bottles. I was surprised how well those cloudy milk bottles transmitted mid IR. The detectors are used in motion detection and optical light and are realty available. I should be able to get this ratio method to work. I am still miffed by the #3,4, and 5 bottles. Frank
