Are you building from the 0.24 release or from a source repository
checkout or snapshot?

The build requirements should be in README or in the manual.
Essentially they are G++; automake, autoconf, etc.; libtool; and the
typical shell tools.

The COD export script includes image (bitmap) textures. It doesn't include
material properties like reflectance, nor does it include any procedural
textures -- that's what that statement means.
