My name is not Victor. Victor is one of the main developers and can be
reached _only_ if you send your questions to the VOTCA group. Please
send all your future questions about VOTCA to [email protected].

Please follow the instructions on http://code.google.com/p/votca/wiki/Installing
and let the group know what you exactly did and what the exact error
messages were (please copy&paste all input&output to your email).

We use openSuse. I personally used VOTCA on Ubuntu. VOTCA was also
tested on RedHat. The distribution does not really matter. Neither
does the kernel - if that's what you're asking?!

We would very much like to help you, but you have to provide us with
more information. The reason why you "can't install VOTCA" is most
likely a missing package (in your case probably mercurialy aka hg). If
you encounter an error in your installation process, please post all
commands you entered and all output to the group. It'll be much easier
to solve your issue.
