I wanted to share a thought.

We need to start promoting answers and solutions from the grass roots up -
we need to lead from the bottom up .

For example - we have insane fuel and war and drug and waste policies world
wide - we waste billions on inefficient or failed programs that profit only a
few ...

consider this

Why don't we turn the Afghan opium poppies and American yards waste into
biofuels ?

Every thinking America, from Eisenhower to today, knows that the military
industrial pharmaceutical chemical industry is the true power base of the US
-
controlling politics and economics and our access to alternative energy and
healthier food and economic options ...

But lets say we as citizens loudly make our own suggestions to talk shows
and editors and politicians and invest in real honest modern entrepreneurs?

For Example:
    * instead of ordering our soldiers to do nothing about the opium
poppies in Afghanistan _The Associated Press: Marines ignore Taliban cash crop
to
not upset Afghan locals_
(http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iWZXcYDoSB3_wHJJSmD6MH__8OpQD90GASN02) ;
    * * we should pay those farmers who make less that $3 a day --
give them $10 to round up the crop - buy it and make biofuel for all the
official Afghan vehicles and trucks and burn the rest for fuel and heat...
That way reduced cost for cops and drug enforcement and methadone and rehab
in Europe and Russia and US cities for the heroin trade

The poor farmers will make more and LIKE us

You would be creating jobs in the biofuel plant - good paying long term jobs

Everyone wins but the PTB's who profit from the drug trade from the CIA and
MI6 to the bankers, the drug and rehab, drug and prison industries etc
-(note-the fields have blossomed since 2001 when in 2000 the fundamentalist
Taliban
had all but eradicated the production they are supposedly to blame for now
(mmm)..)
    * And look at all the leaves and yard stuff sucked up every week all
over urban America ?
    * * Why not have that all dropped off at a biofuel plant and
power plants for use ?
Politicians act lost over land fills and waste issues when it is a ready
power source if utilized ...

The technology exists today to clean up most landfills and use trash for
energy but it is smothered by the mob & corporate waste and landfill
operations
who profit from the current situation:

(http://www.thehealthyplanet.com/mar08_talking.htm) "...According to the US
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Landfill gas is the only renewable
energy source
that, when used, actually removes pollution from the air. In addition to
these environmental benefits, using landfill gas is cost-effective and
generates
local economic opportunities. n Springfield Missouri, the Noble Hill facility
is already generating renewable energy from landfill gas. The Noble Hill
landfill produces 3.2 megawatts of renewable electricity — enough to power
about
3,000 homes each year. There are 12 other facilities in Missouri that have
recently expressed interest in capturing and using landfill gas to produce
renewable energy. You can support renewable energy from the Noble Hill
landfill
and increase the demand for new landfill gas projects by signing up for
AmerenUE’s Pure Power program..."
same thing type of money for "energy" crops could be done with the cocaine
and marijuana in Mexico and South America - and poor areas of the USA

Now - instead - the US Government pays to bomb it with poison and chemicals
hurting pollinators, water supplies and locals with toxic waste - and what
isn't poisoned they burn it or dump it in the ocean - nuts

If it was turned instead into biofuel and heat energy - again - the peasants
profit, new industrial jobs are created long term - waste is reduce; and
dangerous chemicals are not bought and dispensed damaging ecosystems - of
course
currently the powerful military contractors and bankers and poison makers
and govt buddies make money instead

These are obvious solutions and ideas not rocket science

The Greatest Generation won WW 2 because the vastness of that struggle
called upon the full spectrum of the US class and economic and regional areas
-
it was not won in DC by politicians or at West Point - -it was won by the
ingenuity and innovativeness of the common citizens using his and her wits and
common sense and searching for solutions not return on investment or tax
breaks
and lucrative contracts

We need that same type of general army - now - of citizens to win this
current war on energy profiteering and stagnation of leadership

We need the children and grandchildren of those GI Joes to step up and be
grass root Janes and Joes
