Gabe you are correct Cat 3 = 10MB
Cat 5 = up to 100MB
use Cat 5 when you hve a chance you will not regret it. Use a standare rj45
plug end. (If anone needs help with this let me know Cat 5 wire is not too
expensive in the 500' box) RJ11 is for POTS lines (Plain Old Telephone

hrm... from what I remember, rj-11 is the stardard 4 wire head used in
telephones...
rj-45 heads (8 wires) are usually used for ethernet.
there's no obviously apparent reason as to why you couldn't use
an rj-11 head for ethernet since it only uses 4 wires, but i'm sure
there's some reason as to why you need to use the bigger head
(i believe it needs to be better crimped in order for it to actually
carry the bandwidth). Correct me if i'm wrong :)
I'm not sure how to phrase this, but i think 10baseT is the carrier spec,
and the cable is usually described as a 'category x' (1,3,5 being the
most common?)...
I might be wrong, but then again, live and learn :)
