sorry, i guess i should've been more explicit.  both this (and bill's)
reference seems to focus on cvs on a local machine.

i want something that focuses on getting a cvs snapshot from someone else's
computer, ohhh...say, the livid distribution from videolinux.org, for
example.

besides, these two links aren't in the spirit of my linux tutorials anyway.
too many words.  too much information.   too big to print on a reasonable
amount of paper.

no more links, please (but thanks anyway).  something is in the works.
