Hello all :)

I finally recompiled the kernel on my Libretto 50CT with  very good
results.  The kernel is about half the size now (478K versus 962K
compressed).  The APM is working properly.  Sound is setup and currently
not working yet.

First issue:  I set the pty's in make menuconfig for 64 and after
compiling and rebooting the system still has 256 pty's.  Does anyone
know why this is?  This is for a laptop and I should not need many pty's
as I will almost always be using it directly.  I will occassionally ssh
into it from another computer.  It seem like I could get away with even
a smaller amount of pty's  maybe 32 even.  I know this seems picky, but
I really want to fine tune this laptop with limited resources as much as
I can.

Second issue: I have tried out various settings with hdparm and this is
what seems to work best so far: hdparm -c1m16X34W1 /dev/hda .  I am
looking for any advise to get it to work at its best.  Here is the info
