I noticed today that none of my virtual text consoles were working right
(they all just showed a kind of zoomed-in version of whatever was visible
under X). I'm using XFree86 4.0 and RedHat 6.1.
So, I tried doing a "telinit 3" followed by a "telinit 5", but that
didn't work. I decided "screw this, I'm already late for work" and
rebooted ("shutdown -r 0").
When my system came back up, I suddenly had a LOT of errors about
"unresolved symbol: /lib/modules/2.2.14/some_dir/some_file.o"
Right after that, I got some error about my soundcard being in use.
So, now, sound doesn't work right! (It's very similar to what was
wrong with LUGOD's box.)
I haven't done anything to my kernel lately (last recompiled Sep. 15th,
but I've rebooted successfully a number of times since then!!!)
Looking at /var/logs/messages, I notice this:
