concerning my upgrade to woody, netscape6 and star office 5.2, i just
noticed a few more things of interest:
1. netscape 6 now "autofills" past visited URLS when you type them into the
URL box, the way IE and NS does on windows. mixed blessing if you ask
me. it would've been cool if you could configure the behavior.
2. star office 5.2 is now recognizing all my true type fonts without doing
anything. i presume the reason for this is native X support for TT
rather than the "truetype font server" which was kind of a hack anyhow...
btw, i put my quake III benchmarks on my website:
http://dirac.org/p/linux (under misc)
if anyone's interested. i compiled a kernel especially configured to game
playing. there ain't nothing in there that's not directly related to
gaming. didn't quite make the difference i was expecting; only a measely
1 fps. oh well!
soon to try the voodoo 5/5500...
