an acquaintance of mine wants to develop a front end (fe) gui application on
linux and windows. he came across the "kylix project" by borland. it looks
pretty interesting:

[Kylix will] give Delphi and Visual Basic users the ability to rapidly
develop native Linux application and port many Windows Applications to
  Linux.

it's not currently GPL, but the webpage

        http://www.borland.com/kylix/faqs.html

says that that's currently under investigation (i assume that right now it's
free as in beer, but not as in speech).

i'm wondering if anybody has experience with this? it looks promising (if i
understand the webpage correctly) for some kind of cross platform GUI
builder.

anybody?

pete
