It's not a TCP or UDP socket; it's a Unix domain socket.hi, I am looking for some tech help with mysql on my linux computers. basicly, I am getting the following errorERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) What I want to do is run mysql localy, not over a network or anything odd. I have three linux boxes which all need to be running mysql.
Your problem is probably one of two things: your MySQL server is not running, or it is not creating the socket where the client is looking for it.
