In my experience if you point filezilla to an ssh port it automatically uses the SFTP wrapper(so yes), which according to putty's site is ssh. They referred me to filezilla when I needed the same solution.

I looked at this and its documentation suggests that SFTP is some extension
of FTP that adds extra security. What I have read elsewhere has indicatd
that SFTP is a wrapper around SCP/SSH. Does anyone know the answer?
