Hello,

I'm new to the list and apparently a week late but I am in desperate
need of help with my mail/mailman server.

I'm not sure where the problem lies but first off I cant get post fix to
send mail from the correct virtual domain.

The server has a domain name of

"extent0006.entomology.ohio-state.edu"
and a virtual name of
"bugs.osu.edu

I want all the mail to appear to be from [EMAIL PROTECTED] not
extent00.... (for obvious reasons)

secondly when ever I create a mailing list in mail man and try to send
mail to it I get this:

data format error. Command output: ****: Mailbox does not exist

Google insists this is an aliasing issue and I can believe it but I can
see that the lists are listed in /etc/mailman/aliases

but along with that postfix doesn't seem to be paying any attention to
/etc/aliases since I'm not getting any root email sent to my aliased
address.

I understand that this is confusing and I would be more then willing to
share any config or files.
