Well I just learned the difference between Aptitude Clean and Aptitude Autoclean. I've just got the official word from the man pages.
I'd been doing both clean and autoclean. I like autoclean better because it would tell me what was actually getting cleaned out. So I stopped using clean for a few months. I had been worrying about how I was going to partition the laptop I'm planning to buy because my system had grown 10% in the last year. But this morning Clean wiped out that 10%. Wow.
