Must have been a pretty old Debian image.  My VA Linux model 2230 server
(hailing from 2001) is built on a L440GX+ "Lancewood" motherboard, and 
Official Debian 4.0 Etch CD1 installed onto it perfectly -- with
software RAID, even.
