[vox-tech] Broadcasting video over a network

Anyone have an idea how I could broadcast video to my desk top over my home
network?

For example:

I mount a video camera outside my door and watch it from my computer.

I don't want store the video and download it, I just want to broadcast (like
closed circuit TV) on my home network, and any computer could then see the
door.

Ideally, I could use off the shelf, open source stuff and bolt it together.
