Beat,
Can you point me somewhere for your debian packages? As I have a
spare site for mirroring and wiki hosting, I am willing to put those
packages to the contribution site. And I will setup a rsync that your
update will be automatically pulled.
At the moment you cannot use rsync because I have no server at the net
(my provider has nat but not port forwarding) but this will
change it the near future ...
Do you have an ftp server where I can put it. If not I can send you be
email (about 3M)
The packages are still not very tested ...
wpa_supplicant and hostapd works fine with wpa-psk and eap-tls, kismet,
wavemon no problem.
BTW1: I've used the templates from debian packages.
BTW2: What I've forgotten: The modules I have built are for wrap only
without floppy, usb etc.
Maybe we should create to tar file one with minimum support and one with
the whole stuff so anybody
can delete and remove what he don't need or use the wrap stuff rigth of
the box.
The packages are in test phase and I'm very busy at the moment but
that's live :-)
Thank a lot for contributing, and I wish more and more people doing
this way.
For the problem about btmp lastlog wtmp, what is the consequence if
they are not set correctly? The tricky part is /var/log is stored in
tmpfs.
I don't know the real implications but to belong to group voice is not
very nice. I don't know which progs
belongs to voice i.e. could manipulate this file so who, last etc. won't
disply the logged in users.
Have you built the distro on Suse? Because on Suse the group 22 (which
is now set) is utmp and on
debian the group 22 is voice and group 43 is utmp.
I tried to go to your site to verify that I had not done something bad
with the owner
(unpack/pack of tar) but I cannot reach it. Could you verify if the
owner of this files
are the groups 22 or 43 (ls -ln /var/log)
Greetings

Hello
Just noticed that btmp lastlog wtmp
in /var/log have wrong group (at least in voyage-0.1sarge)
should have
utmp:x:43:
instead of
voice:*:22:
i.e.
cd /var/log
chgrp utmp btmp lastlog wtmp
BTW: What about a package download section ordered by kernel releases
and contributer?
(the problem is that wireless extension, madwifi-bsd, openssl,
madwifi-bsd and wpasupplicant
must be compiled "together so I tought to out somewhat below a
contributer)
I've the following packages to contribute:
wireless-tools-28.pre8_bbm.deb
madwifi-bsd-utils-20050702_bbm.deb wpasupplicant-0.4.3_bbm.deb
hostapd-0.4.3_bbm.deb
ssh-4.0p1_bbm.deb ssl-0.9.7g_bbm.deb ---
iproute2-2.6.11-050330_bbm.deb iptables-1.3.3_bbm.deb
kismet-2005-06-R1_bbm.deb wavemon-0.4.0b_bbm.deb
Next ones will be:
madwifi-bsd-20050824
hostapd-0.4.4_bbm.deb
wpasupplicant-0.4.4_bbm.deb
The packages were built with wireless extension v18 and ssl-0.9.7g
and kernel 2.6.12.
The packages have in the version _bbm at the end to distinguish
between debian packages.
Problem is still the reboot stuff ...
Let me know if there are interess and where to put.
I have no kernel package only the modules and kernel which is
"2.6.12-1-wrap"
iptables-1.3.3 has IMQ patch
Greetings
