For hostapd, current sarge repository is freezed so that there wil not be any update in hostapd, you will need to
download the updated package manually :
ftp://ftp.hk.debian.org/debian/pool/main/h/hostapd/hostapd_0.4.5-2_i386.deb
Please see if 0.4.5 works for voyage-0.2pre2. The latest voyage kernel (2.0-7) should be using the latest madwifi-old
driver.

I've just tried it, it works great.
My only problem is that WPA-PSK (using CM9 atheros card) still doesn't
work 'out-of-the-box'...
The solution is already in the wiki
("how_do_i_use_wpa_encryption_what_s_need_to_be_done_that_it_does_really_work").
The new version of "madwifi-old" is sufficient, but the version of
'hostapd' binary is not.
For the next release, It would be nice if "hostapd" was updated (from
current version 0.3.7 to 0.4.5).
