Hi. Removed madwifi-devel from the CC list, it's enough if one of our lists get this thread. In addition I don't see why the voyage-linux list has been CCed (for an other reason than causing bigger waves), but ok...

Anyway, nobody is forced to use MadWifi - if you think that other drivers provide better support for your WLAN hardware, you're free to change. Please remember that MadWifi is for free and the driver as such is open sourced, while other drivers are not free (neither as in freedom nor as in free beer). > Any ideas what we can do apart from buying a atheros licence and develop > an own driver and release it for 1US$ ??? You could invest some time to enhance MadWifi. We're depending on the help of the community to get things done (heck, this is a community project), and the more people spend us their time, the easier and faster we reach our goals. That's how open source works. Regarding the HAL-applied limitations we have to live with what Atheros gives us. Anyway, Atheros has been a great help in the past, and I'm pretty sure they will be in the future as well. If there is a reason for the limitation you've described it will be explained, and if it's a bug it will be fixed.
