Hello everyone,
I have gotten 0.2 installed on my wrap board and it seems to be
working fine. I do have a question about the Debian style init
structure. inittab shows the default runlevel to be 2. So what is
this rcS.d directory then? There are startup scripts (links) there,
that are not being started.
Example: I installed shorewall via apt-get. The deb creates a link
in rcS.d (S40shorewall). I edited /etc/defaults/shorewall to enable
shorewall on start up. Upon reboot, shorewall in not started. I
created a link in rc2.d (S40shorewall) and upon reboot, shorewall was
started.
Based on this, it seems as though rcS.d is not being processed. Is
this correct? What is the point of that directory?
