Hmm, obviously I can just temporarily change the IP addressing details with
ifconfig and then ssh into the box, so never mind that. Still I'd be
interested to know what people use as terminal emulator for serial
connections.
Most commonly, I use
cu -l /dev/ttyS0 -s 38400
(you do have to do a chmod 777 on /dev/ttyS0 first)
I believe the cu command is part of the uucp package on Debian.
