Hi, I am very impressed with voyage linux - so please excuse my huge post following.
I am wanting to customize the dirsto - and have found my way to http://www.voyage.hk/download/nightly/voyage-custom/ and downloaded the lastest nightly I also have voyage-0.4.1.tar.bz2 - I have exploded this, chroot'ed and installed packages and tools (apache2 and varnish amoung other things - I am making a small caching applicance in a wrap or similar). I have all the functionality running under chroot. I am trying to package up my distro - I am reading this :http://wiki.voyage.hk/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=customization (and the old manual steps both from the wiki) I am down to "6. package the custom distro in tarball" - but am unsure of what to put in the " <customize profile dir>". I dont want to try to diff everything I have done - I'd just rather say "bundle this stuff I have made into a file ready for my CF". where to from here? I'd also like to test the boot process under something faster than flashing to CF - can I boot the generated image under vmware or something? I am also keen to use a large CF - say 8gb - 256Mb for the distro, and the rest for cache storage - of large video files that rarely change (yes I understand too much writing will kill the CF - but I think it will rarely write, and do a lot of reads). How do I mount a slab of the CF on boot as a RW filesystem ? on my wrap I can see 8Mb on /rw - how do I make that like a few GBytes? ps. I have just subscribed to the list, so perhaps reply to both for now would be nice.
