Sorry, last 3 days I have not received emails from my email server :-(
Did you check that the md5sum is ok?

But be aware to check on the installation plattform!!
Did you try to install with apt-get?
But this will download a lot of stuff (repository) but if you have
plenty space ..
On which plattform do you try to install?
Did you try
dpkg -i mysql-server-5.0_5.0.32-7etch6_i386.deb
mysql-server_5.0.32-7etch6_all.deb
Please go to /ro/root and start it as above (install 2 packages together)
I know in fact it should be the same absolute or relative pathes IF the
maintainer did
the job well...

Same problem, but i need help, because your solution seems not working for me.
So DO NOT copy packages to hoemdir of root and try to install ...
After moving to some place in the ro fs it was installed right as it does
apt-get (because it downloads to /var/cache/apt/archives/)
I moved mysql-server-5.0_5.0.32-7etch6_i386.deb to /ro/root.
then i tried to install:
dpkg -i /ro/root/mysql-server-5.0_5.0.32-7etch6_i386.deb
but the error stays the same. can you give me some hints?
