I have a software RAID 5 (4 x 1 TB drives) which can write 50+ MB across the network. I do this with the tried and true ext3 file system. Nothing fancy but I have never been convinced by the other file systems. Also, my home server is running Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (server edition). I only put voyage on embedded devices with compact flash devices as the boot media. For an Atom system a regular hard drive and a more conventional distro is much easier to work with.
