I am in the US so I enabled the us mirror site in the list but the error
still persists.
I searched the archives and so far have not found this same problem
reported.

I hope the trick with the mirror makes the differences. It is, as far as
I remember an older issue, also described somewhere on the
linux.voyage.hk websites.
