Hi.

I do have a lot of experience with PIC microcontrollers, but I havn't found info on how he LIRC communicates using RX,TX signals instead of the DCD,RTS etc. Also, I havn't found any good IR Trancievers using PIC on the web either (Recievers can be found but o transmitters so far).

Hi.

I like to set up a Voyage setup using LIRC and a homebrew IR
transmitter/receiver and noticed that the Voyage MDP is shipped with LIRC
included in the package, although I cannot find any notes on what hardware
are supported, or if it supports transmission of IR signals as well.

I do have an Alix 3d3 board running Voyage today, but need advice on what
hardware could be used with LIRC, Voyage (MDP) and Alix – any advice?

Do you have any experience using micro-controllers? The advice I got
from Pascal (designer of PC Engines boards) was to you a small microc
ontroller connected to the TTL com port todo the IR decoding.

A little Googling and I found this: http://www.foxharp.boston.ma.us/avrlirc/

I am going to got this route since I don't want anything on my USB
competing with my USB DAC. Also, no recompiling of modules every time
a new kernel comes out.

I just recently ordered a 20 pin ZIF to program the ATTiny 2313. Might
be a while to get the project completed.
