You may want to try and figure out what the make and model of the
chips inside are. It is entirely possible that this device is simply
not supported by Alsa, in which case you may be out of luck.
I think it's just broken. When it powers up there should always be two
indicators on the front to show the inputs and the outputs. The LEDs
blink on once for an instant at power up but then they all go dark.
I also bypassed the usb input and tried spdif into the coax input from
my CD player, that didn't work either so it can't be Linux's fault.
