Hi Jon,
Punky - How is the testing of the XMOS Development Kit going? It looks like that kit is the most economical solution
for playing 24 bit @ 192 kHz FLAC files.
If you have tested it, how well does it work on ALIX boards?
It works very well. My test bed is now repetitively playing music with it for
28 days without problem:
root@voyage:~# uptime
05:19:47 up 28 days, 14:18, 1 user, load average: 0.13, 0.05, 0.05
root@voyage:~# cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [X20 ]: USB-Audio - XMOS USB Audio 2.0
XMOS XMOS USB Audio 2.0 at usb-0000:00:0f.5-1, high speed
root@voyage:~# ps -lef|grep mpd
1 S mpd 2822 1 7 80 0 - 18160 schedu Nov22 ? 2-00:54:34
/usr/bin/mpd /etc/mpd.conf
One drawback is that you can't use another USB port for external storage of
music files.
