I am not sure what effect you expect from those patches? The only time low latency/rt kernels have helped me is in music production (when using Ardour, Jamin, Rosegarden, linuxsampler, AMS, and so on). I have never noticed an improvement (or even a difference) when just listening to music. Can you elaborate on the smoother audio playback?
I also would never run Ardour on a Soekris or PC Engines SBC. 2011/12/28 Kim-man 'Punky' TSE <[email protected]>: > Hi > > On 12/29/2011 7:04 AM, Ikem Krueger wrote: >> >> Is Voyage MPD using an optimized kernel for smoother audio playback? > > > A Voyage MPD advocate has done it, see: > http://www.symphonic-net.com/kubotayo/articles/voyagempenthusiastic > d.html#rtdown > > -- > Regards, > Kim-man "Punky" Tse > > * Open Source Embedded Solutions and Systems > - Voyage Linux (http://linux.voyage.hk) > - Voyage ONE (http://linux.voyage.hk/voyage-one) > - Voyage MPD (http://linux.voyage.hk/voyage-mpd) > * Voyage Store (http://store.voyage.hk) > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Voyage-linux mailing list > [email protected] > http://list.voyage.hk/mailman/listinfo/voyage-linux _______________________________________________ Voyage-linux mailing list [email protected] http://list.voyage.hk/mailman/listinfo/voyage-linux
