What ist the actual issue?
It has been several years I last actively used WLAN in adhoc mode, back
then for a mesh network. Back then I just used 'iwconfig' to set a
channel, essid and mode ad-hoc. I used a fixed address and used
/etc/network/interfaces to set it up.
To my knowledge, ad-hoc networks with encryption other than WEP are not
possible.
