I have an Alix 3D2 that has been running Voyage 0.6.2 for 3 years.
A new USB device needs a later kernel, so I'm trying to install Voyage 0.9-rc1.

I used voyage 0.9-rc1 LiveCD running under VMware Workstation 9 to write
voyage linux to a 4GB CF card via a USB card reader. When I try to boot on the
Alix I get the following:

On the console:
 GRUB Loading stage 1.5
 GRUB loading, please wait

On the serial port:
Booting 'Voyage Linux 0.9 (Build Date 20120927)'

 root (hd0,0)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
 kernel /vmlinuz root=LABEL=ROOT_FS console=ttyS0,38400n8
    [Linux-bzImage, setup=0x3400, size=0x1c1f20]
 initrd /initrd.img
    [Linux-initrd @ 0xf1fc000, 0x5a3078 bytes]

Then the console changes to blinking cursor only.
No more output to serial port.
Boot stalls at this point.

With the older 0.6.2 the next step is on the console
 Decompressing Linux... Parsing ELF... done.
 Booting the kernel.

Then boot log messages continue on serial port

Any suggestions on why voyage linux won't boot on the Alix 3D2?
