consume the most cpu when the click/pop sound is heard.
Any other suggestion would be adding "rsize=8192" in the nfs/cifs mount
in /etc/fstab, e.g.
192.168.1.101:/home/public /mnt/public nfs rw,noatime,rsize=8192 0 0
