now i can ping from ALIX itself to 8.8.8.8 and www.google.com
when i try from pc which is in eth1 of ALIX, i cannot get anywhere.

ALIX. then i try to access the internet without success.
ping 8.8.8.8, ping www.google.com failed.
the thing is that i can access the remote router that serves the wifi
(192.168.1.1). Also i can get access from my laptop to the internet
with these settings.
the only settings that i have edited was the
*/etc/network/interfaces*. do i have to alter any other file?
what am i doing wrong?

I leave eth1 settings to you. Also make sure you have
firmware-atheros (non-free) package installed
