the future versions of his suite of programs, this will be the final
installment of the list. It seems that most people are posting the
same bugs anyhow (give or take a few) so I'm sure he doesn't actually
need a redundant list every month :)*
April 1999 Posting...
In an attempt to help Olli out by curbing the number of bug reports
concerning VaporWare products that he must sift through, I have taken
it upon myself to compile a list of bugs as well as requests for
features that I and others have posted previously.
If anyone has any problems with this, please notify me and I will
desist. If anyone would like to add to it, also let me know. I have
the idea to post this only to this mailing list, although it will
eventually cover all of VaporWare products (at least those that I
use), and will do it on a monthly basis.
Just so you are aware, I am a registered user of all except for
Scalos, Genesis, MicroDot-I, and that NCP program (I cannot remember
the name). I am not registered for these because I do not use them
:).
For arguments sake, the version of the programs should be considered
the lastest publically available (Not the NetConnect versions)...
VaporWare Bug/Request List Notes

Items with no name attached are suggestions/reports that I have encountered
before hearing about them from others. Those that have addresses attached
mean that that person was the first to report it to me.
I will attempt to update the list whever I receive new information, but I make
no guarantees.

1) Ability to place comments in mail addresses
2) Ability to save out "X-Face" images from received mail
3) Time specification for "Auto Download" of mail
4) Flag in "Account" settings that makes the "Download Manager" pop
up automatically when 'Check Mail' is pressed/used
^ Could probably do this with ARexx command on button, but that
would mean all users would be affected
5) Sound for 'Download' completion when new messages are received
6) Ability to create groups in the Address Manager that we can specify all
recipients to receive the message instead of doing CC's
7) When saving a messages out... How about a default directory for saved
messages, as well as a parse of the directory before filling in the
name 'Msg.txt' and automatically bumping it up to 'Msg#.txt' so we
don't overwrite other messages in blind stupidity :)
8) ROT-13 decoding of incomming mails, a menu item under message?
Random tagline selection like YAM or THOR, as a special
character in the signature like '%t'?
A catchup item in the munus, so the user does not have to wade
through 100's of old news items when they have not been on the
'net for a while.
A way of selecting news groups to subscribe to in group
manager, that only requires a keyword to search for not the typing of the
whole address. For example searching for 'amiga' may bring up
items in 'alt.', 'comp.' and several other places. Then maybe selecting
one or more of the 'found' groups.
The automatic addition of new news groups to the group list,
as THOR does it - each time you connect to your news server.
A way to edit the grouplist and remove bad group names. There
was a time when groups had names containing just '#' and '-' and made
patterns when listed vericaly, these could be deleted.
If the Amiga should crash or hang requiring a reboot after you
have downloaded mail/news but before exiting. Msail items are usualy
lost and news items although not lost are not recorded as being
downloaded so next time a lot of articals are duplicates.

1) Marking multiple messages with "Delete" then unmarking them from
"Delete" doesn't work
2) Using "Birdie" and changing preferences disables "Birdie" on the
screen until an iconify and uniconify (Possibly a "Birdie" bug)
3) Message of 'not connected' when offline still pops up when pressing
"Send" after writing a new message
4) Attempting to send a message when offline confuses the program and
it will still think it is offline even if you go online and try to resend (this
occurs if the stack isn't loaded first)
5) Multiply addressed mails do not go to the correct folder even though
a filter is setup for one of the addresses
6) The 'Message Download' status windows are inactive when they popup
7) If you quicky resize the 'Save/View' window at the top right, the scroll
bar will become corrupted (I believe this one is caused by running
VisualPrefs)
8) Message saving defaults to 'RAM:X' for some reason. See my above
request for a default directory - anyone else encounter this?
9) Don't know how this occurs, but some mails I receive have hotlinks drawn
on top of each other, and this really screws them up
10) When done reading messages in a group, the 'Unread' counter doesn't
update
12) The MD-II window in the latest (NetConnect 2.3) version does not always
close on clicking the close gadget

new messages in your private folder, but even if these have been read and
deleted, it still shows the number of messages that you last had there as
new
14) X-Face images cannot be loaded into the preferences with screens greater than
8-bits
