shame...

Sorry that I didn't take part in this thread earlier, but I was
expecting lots of people confirming the problems on ebay, so I thought
my similar experience would not make the situation clearer. But, as no
one seems to support you here, I'm gonna do it now. ;)
The problem is that you won't notice the mislayout of ebay's main page
in Voyager if you have never viewed it with NS/IE. The complete right
column is missing in Voyager etc. From what I can tell it is a
combination of V's (sometimes) strange handling of tables and the fact
that the source to ebay's homepages contains more HTML errors than
I've ever seen before. There are so many unclosed table and blockquote
tags in there which make me wonder why the "main" browsers display it
correctly.
As far as the item pages are concerned: In Voyager, everything below
the general item information is shifted to the left, causing a margin
of ~100 pixels to be invisible because it is rendered "left" of the
left window border. Again, the people at ebay make big $$ but do not
seem to be able to code proper HTML. Lots of closed tags here that
were never opened.
For other mislayouted pages (and I guess these are Voyager problems,
though I didn't check the sources) go to www.musicblvd.com or
www.stern.de (table columns that should be parallel are rendered below
each other).
Regards,
Philip
