Because you get a more accurate ASCII layout that way than straight from
Voyager.

Because you get a crap low-quality screen dump which usually doesn't
print the whole page. Compare Netscape print out with Voyager print out
- this is unfair because Netscape uses system facilities, but the fact
is one is usable and the other isn't.

Not here. DOpus etc give correct ASCII printout, not Voyager.
In any case what is really wanted is a high resolution print, 600dpi or
more, and a PostScript output as an alternative. As in PageStream, for
instance, or ProPage/ProDraw, etc.
