Olli,
Looking good.
Faster decoding of JPEGs and tables -- particularly nested ones --
even without code optimization. It's about twice as fast as 2.95, on
my 25 MHz 3000 with 16 FAST and a RetinaZ3, 16-bit screen. Although,
it takes an inordinately long time to initially load. Secondary
windows take a long time to come up as well.
JavaScript? I realize this version of V is a snapshot, and I did
expect the JS implementation to be buggy; however, I did expect it to
be, at least, of some useability for evalution. It seems, though,
that it is totally unimplemented, except for the fact that sites
recognize that it has it, working or not.
Does this version of V fully implement the font tag? I didn't bother
to check, but one of the sites I used for testing (www.catalina.com)
does call for specific fonts native to both the PC and Macs, but not
Amiga. The nice thing about this site is it uses limited JS, but only
for buttons (an alternate image call); and if you don't have JS, the
site displays correctly and the buttons still "link" properly. On V3
the buttons were inaccessable due to the JS error requesters. Can the
JS implementation be turned off?
Looking forward to future improvement.
