Most of the crashes are in fact caused by COSMIC RADIATIONS! 
In fact our rams are not well protected against cosmic 
radiations, and it causes memory errors that can lead to enforcer hits, 
memory leak,... up to the total crash of the machine.

Of course some manufacturers can sell you rams that are far better isolated
, I think IBM sells such items. But it's so expensive, that the minor nuisance
of having a heavily cosmic irradiated computer crashing now and then (often
on a given program, physics is made of coincidences) is usually not felt that
important by for example windows users..

The problem is some programs (mine amongst others ) make the computer 
particularily sensitive to cosmic radiations. But it's a coincidence in
most cases.

What I usually suggest to do in case of softwares that seem to misbehave,
is to try to make it work making a hundred or two tries at different periods
of the year and, if possible in different places of the globe, to make sure
it's a bug.
