Got V3R3 to work properly by ONLY replacing the vapor_toolkit.library with the V3 release 2 one. Haven't downloaded "the fix" yet, either. Everything stable, so far, but still some quirks left over from Release 2. Namely: 1. Javascript still fails (and generates the same error as did R2) to do a simple image substitution at www.catalina.com's main index page. I have checked the code and it looks correct, plus with Opera on a 486 notebook, this year old demo works correctly showing the substitution image. 2. I still get JS unresolved references. I'm thinking this is more a JS parser problem in V than a JS code problem. 3. Using avail flush or flush (aminet) after quiting V3 and then trying to open a drive, results in an immediate crash or in lieu of that, some type of infinite, cpu hogging loop that makes a reset necessary. If you don't flush everything works fine, except sometimes directory names are missing. (An MUI palette problem?) Now, to specific Release 3 differences from R2. 1. Menu item: Tidy Disk Cache totally flushes the cache instead of doing a "cleanup." 2. Bookmark manager will import and display V 2.95 bookmarks, and will save them, but when next called, the manager displays only an empty window, neccesitating a redo. Guess Olli wants us to use CManager instead. Now, to the good points: 1. V3R3 handles temporary cookies correctly now. A very secured, 2 passwords required site I use for business (www.quixtar.com) wouldn't work with R2. It now works as it should, even down to the VFlash plugin. The site uses sound, too, but I don't really need it. I don't even have speakers hooked up on my Amiga 3000 anyway. 2. R3 seems faster overall than R2, but there is one thing I like to see changed. Could you please display at least the text and image maps while the images are decoding and being displayed? After the entire page downloads and with only a blank page displayed during decoding, sometimes I'm not sure whether V has crashed or what, particularly with involved pages -- lots of or big tables, many images, etc. Also, there seems to be some type of conflict between V3 (or its MUI libraries) and my version of Microdot that affects Microdot's filtering and internal editor. I'll put the specifics in another message on both mail lists later. Thanks for the good work. V is almost there. -- Patrick Bartek NoLife Polymath Group [EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________________________ Voyager Mailing List - Info & Archive: http://www.vapor.com/ For Listserver Help: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, "HELP" To Unsubscribe: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, "UNSUBSCRIBE"
