I'm not sure I understand.
The version contents of about: are inserted at run-time, and are not
hardcoded.
Your version of pre4 is "3.0.26 (10.10.99)"
Is it a requester or a page? Is it a MOTD requester? Is it an update
reminder?
Please clarify.
