Hi planet :)

V3 looks much more opened than V used to be...
If I sum up the stuff I've seen:

- It's (gonna be ?) possible to configurate the toolbar to call
not only internal actionsbut also javascript, arexx
(even if the way to do that is quite misterious up to now )
- the new plugin api allow programmers to handle new kinds of url
- the future arexx port is planned to support commands calling js methods
- the decoders are implemented like external plugins..
- clipboard support.

On the other side, an issue keeps quite 'closed'. for example, you can
view a picture with webvision using the apropriate popup, but you've no means
to pass this picture to an external program.. Same for other kind of url,
(mailto: http: ftp:...).

For example, it would be nice to be able to be able to send directly an url
to gng, or to mftp, or to gofetch... or a picture to a script that'd
(eventually) download it and pass it to tvpaint...
Hi,

Ok there is mimetype redefinition, but it's a means to have a
generic handling of specific types of data,
but not a way to have special behavior on certain urls..

A solution might be to support configurable popupmenu that the user could
fill in a dedicated preference box, with a list of entries associated
to arexx script for example... that would correspond to either a key qualifier,
or a popup menu... or something else.. That would allow v to be interfacable
with nearly anything, and except for the prefs part, shouldn't be too much
work...

Ok I know V3 is more being debugged right nowthan being expended but,
it's something I feel useful, that seems quite cheap, and that'd help to
compensate the lack of inter-appli drag and drop...
And yes, I'm aware of the 'copy to the clibpoard' menu item, but it does not
exactly offer the same possibilities..

And of course, if what I type is dummy, erhm ... please flame me outside of the
list :)

Phil.
