Hi,
well, we screwed this one up well.
It's quite impossible for such a bug to go unnoticed,
but apparently, it did.
There is a serious bug in the JS interpreter which causes
two internal index pointers to go berzerk if a <SCRIPT>
section contains function definitions. The net effect
range from "nothing happens" through "JS not working at all"
up to "total and utter crash", pretty much depending on
what bytecode instruction V tried to randomyl interpret as
a string.
The bug was introduced in 3.0.36; obviously, the testing
period for this was too short, as all alpha testers seem
to have run in the "nothing happens" case mentioned above.
I've now deleted the broken V3pre5 archive and are preparing
an updated one. There will also be an update archive which
only has the fixed executable, for people who already
downloaded pre5.
Sorry again.
Olli
