I don't think anything in Canada or the US can ever be
indicative of the userbase worldwide: they are traditionally
the small markets (besides high-end bluechip video production)
and you don't get many home users.
Look to the UK and German userbases, and you'll see that there
is a huge difference: Amiga Format sells 12,000+ issues alone,
Amigactive sells it's own fair share of mags. There are a *lot*
of people who buy either/or rather than both magazines which
means that in magazine-buying alone we total in the 10,000s.
You can double that in people who can't get either magazine
due to geographical difficulties, or cost. Don't forget that
the final sales total for the CyberStormPPC and BlizzardPPC
cards were knocking on the door of 10,000 sales too (reputable
sources say 9,800-ish)
Conservative estimates of the online/offline Amiga Community
say about 35,000. Oh, 35,005 if you count the users in British
Columbia ;)
So don't cite your tiny backwards little "town in the middle
of nowhere" type Amiga market as a worldwide counter for users,
because it just doesn't work like that.
