Well, on my PC, (I don't have a 56k modem for my Amiga even if it was working at the
moment!) with a BT line, I never get about 42kbps, so you're getting a whole 10kbps
more than me already, so that's not inconsistent with your findings.
And of course that doesn't take into account anything else - like how accurately the
download speed is being represented, any overhead of the software/operating system,
the phoneline you're using etc...
