I know exactly how it does it: it takes the font, smears it in 4 directions
and
takes the average of the pixels it gets out: where 4 pixels overlap it's
full
darkness, where 3 2 or 1 it's less so.
It's not real anti-aliasing, it's more blurring the edges. Plus it's a hack.
