Yes, turn on smoothing.

For the page break problem, turn off the 'formfeed after printout' option in
Turboprint as V already sends them.

For the background problem, V sends a white background but Turboprint still
dither them.

You will find more informations in your Turboprint manual which adresses these
issues.
