I can't help you with your site-related problems. But try using
"Professional File System" (PFS3). With PFS3 you can even turn off your
computer while writing to the HD! No more trouble with invalid partitions,
as PFS3-partitions are always valid. I have been using PFS3 for quite a
while now, and it is worth every penny!
